The care home in Kuzma depended on an external district heating network and biomass for heating – a source that was not in their hands and brought high, unpredictable costs. When the reliability of supply became questionable and financial pressures were such that they could place an additional burden on residents, they decided to take a step that would free them from dependence on external sources and ensure that residents would not bear the burden of energy uncertainty.
Today, the facility heats and prepares domestic hot water with two KRONOTERM ADAPT MAX heat pumps with a combined output of 175 kW. The entire system is controlled by KSMpro regulation, and the facility also has a solar power plant connected.
