Memories created by guests during their vacation are crucial for the development of tourism. How they feel, what they do, and how tourism professionals take care of them – that’s what matters. High operating and maintenance costs affect competitiveness and the associated lower growth of other investments to ensure higher standards. The search for solutions on how to replace increasingly expensive and environmentally harmful fossil fuels with newer and more environmentally friendly heating sources led the Dva topola sea resort in Izola to invest in more economical comfort for their guests with KRONOTERM heat pumps.
When heating and cooling must be invested in separately, it always brings additional costs. With simultaneous arrangement of heating and cooling, the savings are much greater. If it involves old construction without or with poor insulation, as in the Dva topola resort, the challenge for KRONOTERM experts is even more enticing. Reducing high costs for preparing large amounts of hot sanitary water is a challenge they tackle before you even ask for it.
Concerns about high heating costs are no longer the main worry of the Dva topola resort owners. KRONOTERM WPL-90 and WPG-110 heat pumps with the booster system only require electricity for operation. They achieve outlet temperatures higher than 80°C, allowing the heating of sanitary water to temperatures above 60°C, all without additional electric heaters. Thanks to the operation of the new KRONOTERM heat pump, they have reduced costs by almost three times.
Investors heated the 2,000 m2 facility with a high-temperature regime using heating oil in combination with solar heating before purchasing the KRONOTERM heat pump. The investment in the Dva topola resort includes a combination of underfloor heating, air conditioning, convectors, and radiators. Now, the combination of 4 WPL-90-K1 HTT and one WPG-110-1 HTT heat pumps (booster system) includes 8 heating and 3 cooling circuits. KRONOTERM heat pumps simultaneously take care of heating and cooling of spaces, and they heat sanitary water in combination with existing solar energy. While the booster is in operation, the heat pump cools the storage tank (cooling) and heats sanitary water – a 3000 L boiler. This means that in the summer, we cool the spaces for free with this device, thus increasing the efficiency of the device. The carbon footprint is also significantly reduced.
Saving by lowering the temperature in heated spaces is completely unnecessary when using KRONOTERM heat pumps WPL-90-K1 HTT and WPG-110-1 HTT (booster system) compared to heating oil. When heating all spaces, you save more than if you were heating only part of the spaces, as users heating with heating oil do. Installation near the sea will repay itself in less than ten years, considering all the savings, economic impacts, and reduced environmental impacts.
