KRONOTERM PARTNER IN A EUROPEAN PROJECT TO IMPROVE HEAT PUMP ACCESSIBILITY

KRONOTERM is a proud partner of the European project install.res, which promotes the wider use of heat pumps in existing buildings. The goal of the project is to remove barriers such as high costs, lack of information and limited installer training, thereby enabling more accessible, cleaner and more energy-efficient heating for everyone.

At KRONOTERM, we are proud to be a partner in the European project install.res, whose main goal is to increase the use of heat pumps in existing buildings – where the transition to renewables presents the greatest challenge, but also the greatest opportunity. The project, which started in November 2024, will run for three years and includes partners from Austria, North Macedonia, Poland, Slovenia and the Netherlands.

More than half of Europe’s energy is used for heating and cooling

Approximately 50% of all energy consumed in Europe goes to heating and cooling, with 70% of it still coming from fossil fuels – primarily natural gas. This makes the heating sector one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions.

If we want to reach our climate goals and reduce energy dependency, we need sustainable alternatives – and heat pumps are among the most efficient solutions.

The install.res project focuses on eliminating the barriers that are currently slowing down the mass adoption of heat pumps:

  • high upfront costs,
  • lack of information, and
  • limited installer training.

Over the three years, activities will be carried out in the participating countries – including Slovenia – to identify solutions that ease the transition to heat pumps: from financial schemes and implementation models to training tools with practical solutions for easier deployment.

KRONOTERM’s role in the project

As Slovenia’s leading heat pump manufacturer, our involvement in the project helps shape the future of building renovation. We are bringing our extensive experience, innovative solutions and strong commitment to sustainable heating systems to the development of tools and guidelines that will help people across Europe switch to cleaner heating.

Making heat pumps more accessible for all

With the successful implementation of the project, solutions such as heat pumps will become more accessible and affordable for everyone.

This means lower heating costs, greater energy self-sufficiency, improved living comfort, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing our dependence on fossil fuels for heating is not just important – it’s essential.

Through projects like install.res, KRONOTERM actively contributes to the shift towards a more sustainable and energy-independent society.  Our technologies are already future-ready. Now it’s time to create the conditions that make them available to all.
