KT-2A ROOM CONTROLLER: SETTINGS, USE AND INSTALLATION

KT-2A is KRONOTERM’s smart thermostat, providing users with an easy and understandable way to control comfort and maximize savings when used together with a heat pump. KT-2A is an advanced microprocessor room controller that continuously measures the room temperature. By communicating with the KRONOTERM heat pump, it ensures that the room temperature equals the desired temperature set by the user. Additionally, KT-2A allows easy control of the desired domestic hot water temperature and a rapid hot water heating function for complete user comfort.

A conventional thermostat by itself does not provide the same level of comfort and efficiency as KT-2A. The advanced KT-2A controller, combined with the KRONOTERM heat pump and other components such as boilers and storage tanks, ensures the optimal operation of the entire heating system, resulting in the highest energy savings.

Classic heating devices use a weather curve to regulate the water temperature they send into the heating system. This means adjusting the outlet water temperature based on the outside temperature, which is challenging for most people. Moreover, it’s always necessary to readjust settings if the property’s characteristics change (e.g., additional insulation), as failure to adapt would result in higher costs and reduced comfort.

The adaptive curve represents an innovative and user-friendly solution. Based on the smart thermostat and room controller K2-2A, it calculates the lowest necessary temperature of the inlet water into the heating system or the outlet water from the heat pump, considering the property’s characteristics to achieve the desired room temperature. The algorithm constantly learns and adjusts automatically when property characteristics change. This way, we achieve the desired comfort with maximum efficiency and without additional adjustments

WHERE TO INSTALL IT

• In a room where the desired temperature is closest to the desired average temperature of other rooms,
• Hallway,
• Living room,
• In enclosed and dry spaces,
• At a height of 1.2–1.5 m from the floor.

WHERE NOT TO INSTALL IT:

• Directly in the draft or direct sunlight exposure area, as heat can affect its regulatory characteristics,
• Above electric stoves, refrigerators, or in the area of direct heat radiation from radiators,
• As part of other electrical devices, such as dimmers, as potential heat emission could affect its proper operation,
• In the boiler room, as the temperature there is likely not equal to the desired average temperature of other living spaces,
• On the hydraulic unit HYDRO C or HYDRO S.

KT-2A offers several advantages over a thermostat. KT-2A provides better temperature regulation and a more constant room temperature, leading to potential energy savings. Unlike a thermostat, which has a limited on-off function based on the set temperature, KT-2A operates based on the actual room temperature.

Additionally, KT-2A allows the heat pump not to heat the water to the maximum temperature, potentially saving energy and money. In contrast, a thermostat requires the water to be heated to a specific temperature, which can be more expensive and less dynamic.

KT-2A connects to the heat pump via a UTP cable, ensuring a stable connection and power supply. Only appropriate preparation and arrangement of the installation wiring are required.

Combined with these advantages, KT-2A ensures greater efficiency and energy savings, offering users long-term cost savings.

The KT-2A controller continuously measures the room temperature and ensures that the room temperature is consistent with the desired set temperature. The room correction feature offers various functions: room temperature adjustment, sanitary water temperature adjustment, night mode, 2-day weather forecast, daily and nightly air temperatures, and continuous synchronization with the cloud. KT-2A works exclusively with the heating heat pump KRONOTERM and the regulation of Termotronic WEB (i.e., the temperature control system in the heating system).

Users can achieve maximum savings by simply adjusting the desired temperature. If it’s too cold, they can slightly raise the desired temperature, and vice versa if it’s too warm. In any case, the heat pump, in combination with KT-2A, will adapt, providing the desired comfort and ensuring savings of up to 30% by heating just enough, not too much or too little.

KT-2A is a room controller that ensures you always have the ideal temperature in the room, hot water for your shower, while also providing very high savings and optimal heating system operation.
